Black & Gray

These past 2 months have been so hectic with the holidays and school so I had to take a brief hiatus from Blush Road. I am so excited to finally have a new post up, especially this one. I am obsessed with this look because I am wearing 2 of the biggest trends right now, OTK boots and capes/ponchos. I was dying to get my hands on a pair of these Stuart Weitzman highland boots but I settled for the Steve Madden ones for a fraction of the price. I love these boots so much because they can turn any outfit from looking mediocre to chic within seconds. The only con about OTK boots is that they don't stay up as well as I thought they would but using just a little bit of fashion tape does the trick. If you are on the hunt for a pair of sunglasses, I totally recommend Quay sunglasses. I am head over heels in love with them. They are very affordable for the quality and I love how they all fit. I feel like they are the type of sunglasses that can fit anyones head. They are also super chic with the bold cat eye!
On another note, I just finished my third semester of college with a 3.4 GPA. This semester was the most challenging because of how much time I took off from going to Mexico to the numerous times I over slept because I had an 8am Monday-Friday (never again!!). I am super excited for these next 2 semesters to fly by because after them I will officially start classes for my major.
Only one more holiday to go before it is all over with and we start the new year. I have so many exciting things planned for 2016 so stay tuned :)

Statement Pieces

Free People TopF21 ShortsStuart Weitzman Sandals, Loft Sunnies, H&M Clutch, Macy's Necklace (similar), F21 Bracelet, Charlotte Russe Ring (similar

This was one of my favorite outfits I wore in Mexico! I absolutely love Free People, especially this top which is now on sale, too! I wanted to dress it up a little bit so I added all my favorite statement pieces, the necklace being my favorite. When I saw these Stuart Weitzman sandals, I knew they had to be mine!! I love the style of them and the color is even prettier in person. I usually shy away from suede shoes but I am so glad I didn't on these beauties!
As I am studying for my last test before Thanksgiving break, I am so desperately wishing I was back here sipping on strawberry daiquiris and pina coladas. As you can see I started with a strawberry daiquiri and ended with a pina colada but when you are at an all inclusive resort you might as well take advantage ;)
Happy Monday!

Pops of Blue

F21 Maxi Dress, Prada Sunglasses, BP Clutch (similar), Aspiga Sandals, T.J. Maxx Necklace (similar), F21 Bracelet

I am obsessed with this necklace that I am wearing. As soon as I saw it I knew it would be perfect for Mexico and so it was! I wore it a couple times and got so many compliments. It has the prettiest blue and green hues in it. I've noticed that I am always drawn towards pieces of clothing that have a halter neck. I find them very flattering on me and chunky necklaces look so good layered on top! These pictures were taken just outside of the lobby at our resort. As you can tell once again, the entire resort was so tropical!
Auburn was so much fun this weekend that I was actually so sad to come back home. My friend gave us a little tour around town and it was absolutely beautiful. Brick on every building with the cutest boutiques and coffee shops around every corner. I almost started saying 'y'all' when I came back!!
Happy Monday!

Express Sweater, F21 Shorts, Michael Kors BagTory Burch SandalsF21 Sunglasses (pictures 1-3), Free People Sunglasses (pictures 4&5), Charlotte Russe Cuff (similar)

I love the casual comfort of this outfit I wore just to lounge around and explore our resort. I totally just realized I wore two different sunglasses, not sure why (lol), but I linked both pairs! The tortoiseshell ones from F21 are a perfect Karen Walker dupe! I really like the quality of this sweater from Express. I love the v-neck and its thin enough to wear without sweating in warm weather and warm enough in cooler weather and perfect for layering.
On another note, I am so excited for this weekend because I am going up to Auburn to visit one of my girlfriends in college! I will finally be able to break out my winter clothes! Follow along with me on my Instagram (@blushroad). I hope you have a great weekend! Thanks for stopping by.

I have been waiting to wear this dress since I got it back in May! I dressed it up with my ankle strap heels but it could easily be dressed down with sandals for a very casual look. This is one of my favorite summertime dresses. The material is super soft and extremely light weight. I also love that is it formfitting without being skin tight. This is my first DVF dress and definitely not my last. Diane Von Furstenberg sure knows how to design a dress! Neiman Marcus Last Call has so much DVF available and at a discounted price.
These were taken just outside of our room. No matter where we went, there were always palm trees. The whole resort just felt like paradise. Thanks Secrets Maroma for making such a beautiful resort!
We are halfway through the week, YAY! Thanks for stopping by!

Pops of Orange

Zara Top (similar), Francescas Skirt, Free People Sunglasses, Old Navy Heels, H&M Bag, Charlotte Russe Cuff (similar

I wore this outfit to dinner on our second night. We ate at a seafood and steak restaurant that was at the pool where you could hear the waves from the ocean in the background. When I saw this skirt at Francescas, I knew it would be perfect for Mexico. I love the colors and I also love the slit in the skirt because it showed off my chunky heels and flowed so nicely in the wind. I broke my Ray-Bans a week before I left for my trip and did not have time to get them fixed so I was on the hunt for a cheap pair of aviators that could be my replacement for the mean time. I found these ones at Free People and absolutely loved them. They are good quality and remind me so much of the Dior ones but for only $20 (steal)!! Also, this Zara top I am wearing is my absolute favorite! I love the halter neck and the little bit of ruffles on the bottom. I also like that it is not tight.
On another note, I am so excited for this weekend because my mom is coming up to visit me and bringing my puppy with her!! I also just found out I am going to Spain for spring break to visit a friend who is studying abroad there! If anyone has ever been to Spain and has any travel tips or must-see sites, I would love to hear them! Cheers to the weekend!

Pool Side

My mom upgraded our room to the Jr. Suite Swim-out and I am so glad she did. It was so relaxing just being able to take literally two steps from our room to the pool, especially in the morning when I just wanted to get in for a quick dip. I am actually obsessed with these Stuart Weitzman sandals!! They are so comfortable and I love the style & color.

F21 Dress, Kenneth Cole Bikini Top, Le Specs Sunnies, Target WedgesGap Clutch, Charlotte Russe Cuff (similar)

In case you don't follow me on Instagram (@blushroad), I just got back Mexico. My mom and I went for a wedding and stayed 5 days at Secrets Maroma Beach Resort. My mouth dropped when we drove up to the resort because I felt like I was in a movie. It was very secluded with about a mile drive through trees just to get to it. The resort itself was absolutely beautiful and they had the best service I have ever experienced. It is an all inclusive resort so with that being said, we gained about 5 pounds from all the food and drinks (oops). I am going to do a separate post going more in depth because I highly recommend visiting there.
I wore this outfit on the plane and was actually very comfortable the whole time. I wanted to wear something beachy so I could really get in the vacation mood before I even got there. This dress was the perfect travel dress because it is so light weight and the length was perfect. I didn't have to worry about it riding up and having to pull it down every 2 minutes. These espadrille wedges are my most comfortable pair, yet. I had TSA pre-check so I didn't have to go through the hassle of removing my shoes which was especially nice since these are lace up. Stay tuned for more of my trip!

Floral + Blush Tones

I  love this outfit because it is so feminine from the floral pants to the pops of blush I incorporated. I immediately fell in love with these pants because they remind me so much of this DVF print and I can never turn down anything floral! I wore a plain tee to make it more casual versus a blouse that would have made it a little more dressy. Happy Friday!!
